Colin Burgess

I am an ex-Discovery channel producer/director who has made over 100 hours of broadcast programming -mainly news and current affairs. My last documentary ‘Hand Stitched by Robots’ in 2002 was shown on Discovery Health and has been seen by over a quarter of a billion people.

In 2003 I retrained as a web producer, and ran a number of landmark online campaigns for adidas (35th anniversary of the Superstar and the Lions vs All Blacks rugby site) then one of the world’s first web TV channels Spine TV - I rewrote the Spine TV business model for adidas which subsequently became adidas TV - an online channel that mixes lifestyle and sports magazine programmes with in-skin advertising, product placement and online sales.

I am now a consultant digital director. I assist organisations in planning, launching and running media-rich sites with particular focus on asset management, licensing and interactivity. In addition to building over 20 Government sites, I consult on the online TV services for Directgov - the official site of the British Government www.direct.gov.uk and wrote the Government guidelines on interactive media.
